About us

About us

Big business and billionaires are cashing in
while people struggle to afford food and
heat their homes.

Groups trying to resist this lack the resources they need to challenge the status quo.

That’s where Clean Sheet comes in. We're redirecting our everyday spending towards organisations working to make life fairer, turning our individual choices into community led action.

By buying our soft, sustainable bamboo toilet paper you’re funding change, and nothing else

That’s where Clean Sheet comes in. By redirecting our everyday spending towards organisations working to make life fairer, we can turn our individual choices into collective impact.

Why not start with toilet roll? Especially one which is soft, strong, and made entirely from sustainable bamboo.

We give 100% of our profits
to organisations fighting for
system change:

Supporting renters taking on dodgy landlords, communities on the frontline of the climate crisis, and workers demanding fair wages.

Our partner organisations

The potential is Huge

29% of us in the UK identify as progressive, and together we spend around £1.8 billion a year on basic household essentials like toilet paper. Capturing just a fraction of this could generate millions each year.

How can you run a business while giving away 100% of your profits?

Simple – we set up Clean Sheet to change the system, not get rich. Once we've paid covered operational costs and paid our staff fair salaries, our partner organisations get 100% of the profit that would usually go to shareholders.
We don't get around this with clever tricks like inflated salaries or big bonuses. We will publish all of our costs once we’ve been operating for six months so you can check up on us!

This is the toilet paper that funds change.
And absolutely nothing else.

Future organisational structure

Clean Sheet is structured as a limited company to keep things simple during launch. We're planning on transitioning to a co-operative model and we’re in conversations with workers.coop to join their support programme. This structure - modelled on the Consumer Cooperatives which support trade unions - will ensure we stay true to our commitment of giving 100% of profits to grassroots groups fighting inequality.

Clean Sheet will also establish an independent committee with full authority to decide where funds go and which grassroots partners to support – completely separate from the business operations. We're currently exploring the best governance model for this, drawing on successful examples from other social enterprises to ensure transparency and fairness.

About Lex
our founder

About
Lex our founder

Lex spent most of his career working in decarbonisation but, like many, became disillusioned by greenwashing and corporate greed.

While developing a plan to decarbonise a factory producing 5 million disposable aluminium deodorant cans a day, he had a lightbulb moment: what makes us choose the products we buy? When you're picking up dishwasher tablets, washing-up liquid or laundry detergent, do you feel any real loyalty to those brands?

What if the profit from these everyday purchases could do something more useful than making the rich even richer? What if the profits could directly fund community organisations working to make a difference and improve lives?

The rich are rich enough. Life shouldn't be getting harder for most people. That’s why Lex left his corporate job to start Clean Sheet – to help change the system, one toilet roll at a time.
